BIO
TJ Romeland was born a German army brat to a family that traveled all over the United States before finally settling down in Southern California. By then the preteen had a lot to offer to the world, but was saddled with questions of whether or not he would be able to deliver on what he promised. Such worries were soon put to rest.
At a mere nineteen years of age he embraced the talents he held within him by becoming a hair stylist. Shortly after turning 22 in 1995, TJ received his first agent and wasted no time in becoming a hair stylist and male groomer. Three years later in 1998, equipped with nothing short of an incredible drive and a fierce determination, TJ attended the famed Sunset-Gower Beauty Academy located in Hollywood, California. There he became a certified TV, commercial, and film makeup artist by the age of 25.
After working as a credited makeup artist in the glowing lights of Hollywood’s entertainment industry, TJ decided to broaden his horizons and travel. So in 1999 he chose to pack up and move to the city that never sleeps, New York. While there he was able to successfully become an MAC cosmetics makeup artist by the following year. In 2001 TJ was drawn back to the West Coast, once again absorbed in the undeniable allure of Hollywood’s Film and TV industry. In fact that allure was much stronger than it had been before; having been fueled by the success of TJ’s makeup skills in the popular film “Bring It On” a few years prior.
Once again TJ wasted no time in furthering his career at a lightning speed. By 2005 he was hired as a makeup artist and hair stylist by Access Hollywood. After eleven years in Hollywood, TJ became a Union Local-706/Member & Network TV makeup artist in 2006.
During his years as a makeup artist and male groomer, TJ has had the pleasure of working with noted celebrities, such as: Kelly Ripa, Spike Lee, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett and Tyra Banks. He has worked at major award shows including: The Golden Globes, The Grammys, and The Oscars. As well as major networks and studios, including: ABC, Disney, MTV, and NBC Universal.
The betterment of his skills and the mastery of his craft is what keeps this young talent striving to be one of the Entertainment Industries best and finest.
“Helping people feel and become more confident about their appearance is one of the reasons why I LOVE what I do. Whether I am working with a celebrity, the girl next door, or any of my male clientele, providing my clients with the certainty that they look great is my highest priority. Being a multi-faceted artist allows me do that for them.” -TJR
With his creative vision and professionalism, goals such as the ones mentioned above are never more than a few feet away. Even as the days and the industry constantly change, he continues to set the standard for ‘Star Style.’
At present TJ continues to work with long time client ABC7 in Los Angeles, and is currently freelancing in New York and working abroad. His past is impressive, but it is what is to come from TJ that is most promising.
The future of young Hollywood talent is often somewhat bleak and uncertain. In this case the future could not possibly be any brighter. The talent is undeniable, the passion for life and the job immeasurable, and the drive to move forward unparalleled. TJ has an abundance of artistic energy to burn and a desire to use it to its full potential.
Great things are to be expected from this one.
