Great times back then, with Bridgette.. I loved this lady..

The Accident, that almost took Celebrity MUA: TJ Romeland’s life… July 6, 2008 8:30 am

3 Years Ago, 4 months ago, Today…

2008 was a rough year for our nation, the economy, entertainment (TV), and many people… But it became for sure one of the most destructive years of my life… I went through ton’s of loss that year: my dad died early Feb., loss my property in Dallas Tx, Loss my loft in downtown LA, loss many gig’s that year due to the Writers Strike and the Recession.. It seemed like all that I had worked so long on and so hard for, I was losing it all in a about year’s time…

The end result, then was…
I was out of control of my life.. And little did I know, I was very close to losing “IT” Life itself..  July 6, 2008 @ 8:30am, I feel asleep (well, I wont front… Really I passed out, I was functioning on very little sleep, staying up that whole holiday weekend, wild’n out on sex, drugs, and rock&roll, figuring that my life was f**king over anyway.. So I thought..) at the wheel of my car and crashed into a San Fernando Valley mountain, off the 14 Fwy, North… There was silence and blackness, during that bright early morning…

I was smacked conscious by a driver (He had to have been behind me when I was driving & saw the crash).. After I was awakened, He help pulled me out of the flipped upside down crushed and smoking vehicle, (the really odd thing about this all was that) when all the Response Units arrived, the man that helped me, was gone!

Poof! Dude was no where to be seen or to be thanked.

I’m forever grateful to that stranger…

Thank you God, for that amazing Latin guy that awakened me and pulled outta that wreckage, right on time…

Otherwise I would have still been knocked out, hanging upside down with a slightly dislocated right shoulder & hip and bleeding from the gashes I received during the crash..

Funny/Odd thing about my thoughts and feelings at the time were, “That I didn’t have any Medical Insurance!!!” One of the firemen said to me, (An older white man with a strong, but kind face) “Young man, you’re a very blessed kid.. He said, that he had responded to smaller accidents with less damage, But still seen folks dead or very injured.. He go’s on to say (Yes you’re bleeding a lot and limping) but you’re “Walking Away” from crashing into a MOUNTAIN!” Remember That!…. I nodded and thanked him..

I haven’t FORGOTTEN it!!

Last but No Where Near, Least…
I want to Thank one of my best friends Mr. Juan Pierce for being there to pick me up from the hospital, then assisting me on my gigs, allowing me to get around Hollywood and back, in his car for a couple months until I got my old truck.. I know I drove dude crazy through it all, lol… But Thx bro for having my back, man… Madd Love & Respect Always for that…

Amen and Glory to God, for giving me another chance to live this great life, he’s had planned for me… TJ (NYC)  A little over 3 years Later…

Celebrity Makeup Artist: TJ Romeland recommend’s Foundations & Lipstick Shades, to The Atlanta Post…

Good Afternoon, Atlanta Post / Madame Noire

I’m TJ Romeland, AA, and a Celebrity/Beauty MUA..

I was forwarded this Press Op. By:
Richard E. Pelzer II / MEGA Management Inc.
646-320-2300

I’d like to support your Beauty Story, by offering my suggestions/recommendations for Foundations and Lipstick shades, that I prefer to use on women of color..

Foundations:
I tend to mix a few shades to get the ideal complexion, for my clients. I’d also recommend to anyone that wears foundation, to mix shades.(The average person, from my experience has anywhere from 4 up to 7 different complexions on their face)

As a rule of thumb folks, please mix your shades.. A brand that has proven to work for me in Film, TV, Print to Everyday Makeup applications, is my kit “Must Have”, Black Opal.  (I was tipped off about this awesome line over 11 yrs. ago.. Thanks to one of my mentors, Makeup Legend: Don-Michael Lowery)

The shades I use on most women of color, are: Truly Topaz, Beautifully Bronze, Nutmeg, & Hazelnut.. I typically find myself mixing any combo of these shades and often all of them to get a Perfect Flawless Complexion.. Their Liquid, Sticks, & Cream to Powder Foundations are Great, Long Lasting and Very AFFORDABLE..

Lipsticks:
I also tend to blend/mix Lipsticks shades, Lip Liner’s, and Gloss.. Among some of my favorites, I have to point out 2 Brands (I say some, because as the readers well know, there are thousands of lipstick shades in cosmetics and many lipstick makers on the market.)

What’s remain consistent for me as a MUA, (of over 13years) no matter who I’m working on or with, weather its Production or face to face Everyday Makeup.. The brands that haven’t failed me, are MAC & Makeup Forever! 2 Leaders in the Cosmetics Industry.

My Favorite Lip stick shades to use on women of color, that proves to be very versatile are:

MAC: Media, Gleam, Angel, Gel, Meltdown and O
 Makeup Forever: Palette # 5 and # 8-Orchid Harmony
